Hornets Steketee Cup Is Underway!

On Sunday the first game of the season for the Hornets Steketee Cup side took place.

South Burnett got away for a good start, finding themselves at 3/147 after 25 overs. Tight bowling from Isaac Krause (3/39 off 10) and Koby Williams (3/29 off 7) resulted in South Burnett ending their innings with a very gettable 243 on a lightning fast Bichel Oval.

Max Halls and Isaac Krause got the Hornets away to an excellent start. The pair put together a 158 run opening stand before Isaac was out for a well compiled 49. Max batted right through the inning for a fantastic 111*. The Hornets eventually passed their score in the 46th over to get the win.

Well done to all boys and thanks to Ipswich boys Jack, Harry and Darsh who helped out an undermanned South Burnett side.
